Legal and Compliance Manager
Location: Wyldecrest Parks – West Thurrock, Essex
Purpose of the Position:
The post holder is part of the Estates department providing support to the overall department’s objectives. Responsible for managing the company litigation caseloads and clients, dealing with caseloads destined for the Magistrates, County Courts and Tribunals. Provide preliminary advice and guidance to management on cases as well as preparing letters and documents. Actively representing the organisation at court cases as and when needed.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Dealing with a substantial and varied caseload efficiently and cost-effectively with minimum supervision
- Assisting the company as a whole with dispute resolution with matters of property law and procedures
- Dealing with litigation for and against Wyldecrest Parks
- Implementing internal policies
- Liaising with insurance brokers, considering internal provisions for cases
- Preparing management information, reports and briefing papers which are submitted to various internal management committees
- Drafting, reviewing and helping negotiate contracts
- Providing pragmatic advice on a wide range of day-to-day business queries, including operational issues, approval of marketing materials and other on-going ad-hoc queries
- Providing legal assistance in other areas including disputes, real estate and data protection
- Creating and improving legal processes and policies
- Supporting the implementation of our ambitious growth plans
- Involvement in ad hoc corporate transactions
- Responsibility for managing the company’s litigation caseloads and clients
- Provide preliminary advice and guidance to management on cases as well as preparing letters and documents
- Actively representing the organisation at court cases as and when needed
- Deal with local authorities in relation to planning and site licensing application.
- Deal with telephone calls, emails and letters from residents, councils and other parties
Education & Qualifications
Experience
- Significant experience in litigation
- Experience of compliance issues
