Former world snooker champion Peter Ebdon has been appointed a Global Ambassador for Wyldecrest Parks.

The 44-year-old star will promote the brand worldwide for the next five years.

Peter, who was competing in Coral UK Open this week said: “I’ve been sponsored over the years, but this is a tremendous opportunity and incentive.  I’ve been practicing five hours a day and I’m ready to take on the challenge.”

Ebdon, who is a committed Vegan, is now based in Wellingborough, Northampton but regularly visits friends in Essex.

He was crowned World Champion in 2002 defeating Stephen Hendry in the final and UK Champion in 2006 becoming only the ninth player to have won both titles. He won The China Open in 2012 and is currently ranked 33 in the world.

He added: “I feel honoured to be Wyldecrest’s first global ambassador and I look forward to promoting snooker and the company worldwide.”

He became a Vegan three years ago after the death of his father from cancer and added: “I have never felt so focused or fit with a great sense of well-being.  Since I became a vegan even my eyesight has improved 25 per cent, it’s amazing.”

Alfie Best, chairman of Wyldecrest Parks, in London Road, West Thurrock who own 40 residential and holiday parks across Essex and the UK said: “It is a fantastic opportunity to have someone of the calibre and integrity of Peter endorse our brand.  We wish him the best of luck.”
