With Christmas around the corner, now is the best time to check the top Christmas markets to visit near all our Wyldecrest Holiday Park.

Christimas is right around the corner and we know some of you have planned some nice holidays to enjoy this winter.  

That’s why we came up with some great places to visit (no matter which park you’re in) as well as doing a bit of research to see what Christmas markets are happening around some of your Wyldecrest Holiday Parks.  

It doesn’t matter if you’re staying at one of our parks to enjoy the Christmas time or just popping by, there’s plenty to see and do. 

Here’s our guide to some must-visit spots and Christmas markets and events near each of our parks. 

Saltmarshe Castle Park (Herefordshire)

Settled within a historic woodland, Saltmarshe Castle Park is a must-visit destination any time of year but it’s especially magical in winter. Guests can explore the surrounding trails and discover remnants of Saltmarshe Castle, adding a touch of history to their stay. 

Hereford Christmas Market: Open from December 6th to December 22nd, Hereford’s Christmas Market is only a short drive away and offers a wonderful mix of local crafts, festive foods and unique holiday gifts. 

Christmas Fair at Hereford Cathedral: On December 14th, from 9:30 am to 4 pm, Hereford Cathedral hosts its annual Christmas Fair featuring over forty stallholders offering homemade produce, handcrafted items and festive gifts. Entry is free and carol singing in the Catheral Close at midday adds to the festive atmosphere. 

Felmoor Park (Northumberland)

Located in the heart of Northumberland, both Felmoor Park and Bockenfield Country Park are great spots to relax and enjoy what winter has to offer. Perfect for family stays or romantic escapes, these parks offer easy access to some of the area’s most popular attractions. 

Alnwick Castle: This historic castle is close by and a fantastic place to visit year-round. In December, Alnwick Castle and Gardens often hold seasonal events, making it an enchanting spot for winter wanderers. 

Newcastle Christmas Market: Running from November 16th to December 22nd, Newcastle’s Christmas Market is a vibrant event. Enjoy holiday treats, browse through stalls featuring handmade gifts and take in the lively atmosphere that’s perfect for the season. 

St. Cyrus Park (Aberdeenshire, Scotland)

Set along the stunning Aberdeenshire coastline, St. Cyrus Park offers peaceful views of the North Sea and easy access to unique local attractions. It’s an ideal destination for those seeking a seaside holiday with a touch of the Christmas magic. 

Aberdeen Christmas Village: From November 15th to December 22nd, Aberdeen’s Christmas Village does a full makeover to the city centre with festive lights, a market, ice rink and amusement rides. Only a short drive from St. Cyrus, it’s a fantastic day out for families and holidaymakers. 

Stonehaven Fireballs Ceremony: This unique Hogmanay event on December 31st is a local tradition, where residents swing flaming fireballs to ward off evil spirits. It’s a sight to behold and a memorable way to ring in the New Year in true Scottish style. 

Badgers Retreat Park (North Yorkshire)
